Introducing 3-5 yr old kids to Bhagavad Gita

Bhagavad Gita is the most popular Hindu scripture because of good reasons. It is a truly sanatan treatise on life applying to every situation, nation and person in every generation.

Thus, it’s never too early to introduce kids to the magic of Bhagavad Gita. Here are some tips on how to introduce Bhagavad Gita to kids as early as 3 yrs old.

Ways to introduce 5 yr old kids to Bhagavad Gita.

  1. Write Bhagavad Gita shlokas in Sanskrit and their English translation as writing practice for Hindi and English.
  2. Light a lamp and Play selection of shlokas every evening around sunset time (Daily Sandhya practice).
  3. Participate in Geeta Recitation Competitions held by Simply Sanatan.
  4. Watch 1 episode of B.R Chopra’s Mahabharata everyday as family TV time.
  5. Play a selection of shlokas at predetermined times. Examples ::
  • Drive to and from school
  • Nightly drive to a nearby temple
  • Morning Shower – Moms can place a waterproof speaker in the bathroom. It can also work as a timer for kids to know when it’s time to come out of the shower.
  • Every night before sleeping
  • Choose any one shloka and chant it before every meal.
